Born in India, raised in the USA, and living in Europe for 35 years selling in the business-to-business environment, his love for Europe began when he was an exchange student in Stockholm in the late 1970s. During his university education (Scandinavian Languages and International Business) he began his career in sales, representing Washington State wines to key accounts such as American Airlines and Marriott Hotels.

A brief period in selling medical diagnostics provided the transition to the software industry where he spent 10 years building up and leading companies – setting up the international operations of a Seattle-based company in the Netherlands. He the establishment of additional sales operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific developing sales of $100 million through a network of more than 200 partners.

He leveraged his experience in strategic sales, leadership and innovation to move into consulting more than 20 years ago and has since worked with more than 500 companies helping them improve their leadership and sales practices and create profitable customer co-innovation programs.

Based in Geneva, Switzerland, Gopal is is a true global citizen, having lived in 13 countries and delivering client engagements in more than 190 countries. He is also a lecturer in a number of EMBA programs at the École Polytechnique Fédérale in Lausanne since 2000, the Gdansk Business School since 2017, and has worked with Aalto University’s Executive Education division for more than 15 years.
